CCJ Architects delivered a design for updated food service counters within the large Refectory space to support the University’s offering of a diverse and flexible range of healthy food options for students. To improve workflow and staff efficiency, several small counters/service zones were combined into one larger service counter, with improved connections through to the existing ‘back of house’ production kitchen. New food display units were selected to support flexibility in presenting seasonal food offerings. Counter and wall finishes, food display units and lighting were all integrated to complement the branding of this ‘Global Kitchen’ service space. An adjacent existing service counter was upgraded with new finishes to compliment these changes, contributing to a coherent modern look throughout.
