CCJ completed the scoping and feasibility for a new school in the fledgling Canberra suburb of Coombs in the Molonglo Valley. This included extensive workshopping and broad consultation with community and other stakeholders, followed by development of the detailed forward design for the new P – 6 primary school.  The school was a large 4 stream facility to cater for over 700 students. Facilities included a resource centre, administration building, canteen, environment centre, multi-purpose rooms and a General Purpose Hall, together with pre-school and general purpose classrooms and collaborative spaces for each year group. CCJ’s design focused on delivering child-centred contemporary, flexible learning spaces with a focus on ‘future proofing’ and sustainability.

The images here show what the school might have looked like prior to the D&C process.

CCJ was also the Green Star accredited professional and the school achieved a 5 Star Green Star Education design rating.
